Capistrano Valley Christian Schools exists to foster the development of:

I. Students who love the Lord with all of their hearts, minds, and souls.*

• Students know Christ as their personal Savior.
• Students know, develop, and use their God-given gifts and abilities in daily life.
• Students evidence the fruits of the Spirit in developmentally appropriate ways.
• Students are able to intellectually defend their faith.

• Students understand that their choices and actions have eternal consequences for both themselves and others.

* The accomplishment of this mission is fully dependent upon the work of the Holy Spirit.  For students who do not embrace salvation, our desire is that they would have hearts inclined toward Christ and the Word of God.

II. Students who achieve their highest academic potential.

• Students are prepared for higher education and life-long learning.
• Students are well-prepared in all academic disciplines and are measurably skilled in writing, speaking, listening, and thinking.
• Students are measurably proficient (defined as SAT-10 scores in the top 10 percent of published nationwide results) in mathematics, science, and reading.
• Students demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of people, events, movements in history (including church history,) and the cultures of other people and places.
• Students demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of literature, the performing and visual arts, and how these express and shape their beliefs and values.
• Students demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of languages and cultures of other people, dispelling prejudice, promoting inter-ethnic harmony, and encouraging Biblical hospitality for the “alien” and “stranger."
• Students understand the difference between knowledge and Biblical truth.
• Students are critical thinkers.

III. Students who are life-long stewards of their bodies.

• Students treat their bodies as belonging to God.
• Students value the need for physical activity and nutritional health.

IV. Students who are socially responsible.

• Students model Christian character, conduct, accountability, and service.
• Students demonstrate a Christ-like attitude towards sportsmanship and competition.
• Students work cooperatively with others and value a sense of community and teamwork.
