K-5: M.I.N.D. Institute Piano Lab
Partnered with the M.I.N.D. Math Computer Lab, our state of the art music classroom holds twenty-five electronic keyboards that each class uses at set times during the week. Each class comes twice a week for thirty minutes and is taught to play the piano not by ear, but by learning to read music as a mathematical chart that gives both spatial and temporal training. Through games and fun songs, the K-5 students learn to enjoy music as they unknowingly open their neural development to create better students. For more detailed information:

Capistrano Valley Christian Schools offers a unique opportunity for elementary students to significantly increase their achievement in mathematics. Using the revolutionary Math + Music Program, students’ math scores are dramatically increasing. Based on more than 30 years of brain and learning research, ST Math+Music uses non-language based computer math games with a boost from music training to teach K-5 students problem solving skills–and dramatically increase their math scores on standardized tests.

ST Math+Music develops students’ innate ability to visualize and manipulate images –and problems –in space and time. This Spatial Temporal Reasoning ability is used in the unique ST Math software to teach all grade-aligned state math standards from grades K – 5. Because ST Math+Music is non-language based, it is immediately helpful to English Language Learners.
