CVCS’ Elementary School provides a solid foundation for a lifetime of learning!
Welcome to the CVCS Elementary School Web Page. Our division consists of grades Junior Kindergarten through sixth. We are so proud of our school where each child finds a safe, caring, and nurturing environment. In addition, our faculty and staff have developed a true “Blue Ribbon School of Excellence.”
Children in the elementary school are taught by committed Christian believers. Each teacher models Christ’s love in their classroom and to their students. Spiritual development of the child is our fundamental core value. Our daily Bible instruction and chapels offer our students opportunities to learn about a loving and compassionate God and become Disciples of Christ.
Children who attend our Elementary School are immersed in one of the most comprehensive math programs in the State of California. This program is known as the M.I.N.D. (Music Intelligence Neural Development) Research Institute. It has been endorsed by our County Superintendent of Public Instruction and former Secretary of Education of the State of California, Marian Bergeson. In addition to math instruction through a California Standards based curriculum, all K-6 students learn piano keyboarding as part of their mathematics education. They also attend the JIJI Math lab, the MIND Institute’s research based computer software program, allowing them to learn complex geometric and algebraic concepts by developing special and temporal reasoning. Many of our students score significantly higher in their math achievement scores measured by the Stanford 10 Achievement Test, or SAT.
Spalding Education International’s “Writing Road to Reading” method provides the foundation for our Language Arts curriculum. Proven by research, Spalding is a strong phonics based approach to reading instruction. Spalding meets all the criteria set forth by the National Reading Panel providing a program that is challenging in reading, spelling, comprehension, and writing. Teachers attend classes to become Spalding Certified Reading Specialists.
Capistrano Valley Christian Schools is a leader in technology education. Students in Kindergarten through Sixth Grade become proficient in various Microsoft Applications including word processing, Excel, Power Point, graphics, desktop publishing, data base application, and Internet. Our program is aligned with all ISTE (International Standards of Technology Education) standards.
Our highly qualified and professional faculty all hold valid teaching credentials as a condition of employment. We are extremely proud to offer one of the most outstanding educational programs in Orange County.
