PRIVATE SATELLITE PROGRAM (PSP)

This program is for full-time homeschooling. Students are enrolled in CVCS while taught by their parents at home on their own schedule. CVCS keeps record of student’s grades and attendance, which are provided by parents. Optional Christ-centered curriculum list and lesson plans are available to facilitate homeschooling. In addition, PSP students are eligible for enrichment and after-school classes offered by CVCS as well as SAT 10 Test administration. CVCS homeschool teachers are available to mentor, assist and guide teaching parents. Music Worship and Bible class and our community service outreach are included in this program.

CO-OP HOMESCHOOL PROGRAM

This 2-day program is a hybrid educational program, which combines homeschool with a traditional classroom setting. This blend results in a program that provides several of the benefits from both educational methods.

The Christ-centered Co-op meets on campus two days a week with a classroom teacher. Students are schooled at home the remaining three days. Teaching responsibility is shared between parent and classroom teacher. CVCS provides facilities, classroom instruction, socialization and parent mentoring. The program instills a love for learning, focusing on academic development and hands-on experiences. Small class sizes and a one-room schoolhouse approach allow for individual student attention and self-paced learning. The teachers specialize in homeschool education.

Each day starts with students and staff gathering together in music worship to God and Bible study. The Co-op covers both core subjects and enrichment classes such as Spanish, art, public speaking and labs, which include math and music. In addition, we offer community service outreach.

“Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” 2 Corinthians 5:20

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is a Co-op Homeschool Program?

A Co-op Homeschool Program is a hybrid teaching environment, which blends many of the advantages of a traditional 5 day-a-week classroom setting with the benefits of homeschool education.

What does Co-op Mean?

A homechool program is considered a co-op when the teaching responsibility is shared between parent and classroom teacher. The CVCS teacher and parent work together educating the children to ensure academic excellence, social involvement and spiritual growth.

Why should I consider Co-op homeschooling?

A co-op homeschool blends the structure of a traditional school with the flexibility of homeschooling. The structure includes carefully selected curriculum, a set schedule 2 days a week, record keeping, and socialization. The flexibility allows teaching your child to their pace and learning style. In addition, more individualized attention is given to the child. There are many more advantages to co-op homeschooling we would be happy to discuss.

What is the CVCS Co-op homeschool program?

The CVCS Elementary/Jr. High Co-op Homeschool is a Christ-centered teaching program, which instills a love for learning through hands-on experiences and small class sizes. Students K through 8th grade attend core and enrichment classes led by CVCS Teachers on Mondays and Wednesdays and are schooled at home by the parent on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

How much will I be homeschooling my child(ren) with this program?

The parent is the primary teacher, instructing their child 3 days a week at home, while the CVCS teacher instructs the child at school 2 days. CVCS provides a curriculum list as well as a suggested lesson plan. The CVCS teacher is also available for teacher mentoring to the parent and can help guide you in the education process.

What does the CVCS Co-op program include?

The program offers 2 days of Christ-centered classroom instruction per week. Core classes include Phonics, Language, Writing, Speech, Math, History and Science. Enrichment classes include Art, Spanish, and Music. The program also encompasses Parent/Teacher mentoring, affidavit filing, academic record keeping, annual SAT test administration.
