Summer Reading 2017

Junior High School

All incoming 8th graders are required to do assigned summer reading. This year's book is Chains by Laurie Halse Anderson. Along with keeping your student's reading skills active and engaged, this book will also deepen your child's understanding of slavery and the Revolutionary War time period, as well as prepare students to begin their 8th-grade study of that time period in the fall semester.

Linked below is the Summer Reading Packet with the study guide questions for this novel. The book is 300 pages long, and the chapters range anywhere from 2-11 pages.

The packet will be due on Friday, August 25, 2017, the first week of school. A test will also be given on that day as well.
