Coach Fabio Argaez

Coach Argaez enters his fourth year of coaching volleyball at CVCS and his first year as the Head Varsity Volleyball Coach.  Fabio has spent the last three years with both the girls and boys volleyball programs at both the junior varsity and varsity levels.  Prior to coming to CVCS, he coached for one year at the Laguna Beach Volleyball Club and one year at the Mission Viejo Christian Volleyball Club.

Fabio was born and raised in Colombia, South America where he began playing volleyball at the early age of twelve.  He underwent intense training with the State team 6 days a week, 11 months a year.  This led to playing in multiple National Tournaments and even an invitation to try out for the Colombian National Team on its way to Brazil in 1980.  He had the privilege of playing international teams from China and Taiwan.  This wealth of playing experience has led to Fabio’s success as a coach. Fabio says, “My purpose in coaching is to help the total athlete be physically, mentally and spiritually stronger by the end of the season. Team sports are a great way to help them see how each small insignificant decision they make affects those around them. Therefore, players realize there are no small insignificant decisions. YOU are important!  I ask “Which kind of player are you? Are you ready to step up and be a difference maker?” What kind of a student are you? What kind of a son or daughter are you? What kind of a friend are you?   These are some of the personal challenges I give my players.  Ultimately, my job as a coach is to love them, their job is to love each other.

Coach says that the most influential person in his life is Jesus Christ.  Among Coach Argaez’s favorite verses in the Bible are when Jesus said, "I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to YOU." - John 13:15.

He also like 1 Corinthians 13:2-4 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.   3 If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.      4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

Fabio has been married to Ana, an administrative assistant here at CVCS, for the past 22 years!  They have 3 wonderful children who all currently attend CVCS and are actively involved in athletics – Andre, Bryan and Christina.

He went to El Camino College and majored in Computer Science which led to his current profession with Coast Composites, Inc. in Irvine where he is their Senior CAD/CAM Programmer.  They build specialized tooling for the Aerospace and Communications Industry.
