ANNOUNCING THE HIRING OF COACH BUTTERWORTH

April 11, 2008 - Roughly 25 resumes and/or applications were received to fill the coaching vacancy for the Lady Eagles Basketball Program. CVCS is pleased to announce the hiring of BRAD BUTTERWORTH as the new Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach.

Brad comes from a basketball background and brings a wealth of knowledge, enthusiasm and passion to the program. We know that God has directed Brad to our family here at CVCS “for such a time as this!”

BRAD BUTTERWORTH

Former Florida State Basketball Director of Operations Dan Spainhour told me, “Brad certainly knows the game very well and takes a lot of initiative in getting things done.”

One parent of a former Butterworth player said in an email:  “Let me start by saying I believe whole heartily that the families, players, students and fans at CVC School would only benefit by hiring Brad. Brad's enthusiasm is infectious and his energy level is undying. He is fierce competitor with a gentle spirit. That spirit is what I believe balances his coaching style and makes his players not only respect him but feel comfortable around him too. He has tremendous compassion about coaching and basketball and has a way of instilling that love of the game into his players.”

Brad is married to Jessica, and has  three children - Jaide (7), Kai (4) and Bralen (2).  They attend Compass Bible Church. Coach Butterworth has worked all levels of basketball.  His experience includes: leading his own club (OC Force), directing and coaching the South Coast Youth Basketball Club Teams, Assistant Coach at Dana Hills High School, and Camp Director of his own summer camps (Coastline Summer Camps), camps at Florida State University and Western Washington University and his latest job as Assistant Coach at Colorado College.  This wide range of experience is what makes his training techniques and knowledge so valued in the developing world of athletics.  Result-driven and inspired from those he learned from, Coach Butterworth is one of the most experienced and veteran coaches in the area.

CVCS is very excited to add another well qualified Christian man to the fine Coaching Staff!
