Hannah Spraker had 2 RBI's and Capri Ruiz also had 2 hits, and the defense played the entire game without an error. This win clinched at least a tie for 2nd place in league. Congratulations softball team!
4/30/08 Eagles' Bats Roar As Wildcats Are Defeated 17-2
A 2-out rally in the first inning started it, and the Eagles just kept going from there, pounding out 12 hits to win their fifth league game against only 2 losses. Hannah Spraker and Natalie Manzo each hit a single, double, and triple. Bronwyn Seward went 2 for 2. Capri Ruiz and Jessica Balmer also had identical stats--2 hits plus a walk each.
4/24/08 Eagles Conquer Warriors In Extra Innings--Move Into 2nd Place
With two outs in the top of the 8th inning, Elizabeth Sherwood's 2-strike infield single drove home Jessica Balmer from third and broke a 1-1 tie. Jessica Nipp followed with another infield hit and Capri Ruiz drove home two more runs for a 4-1 lead. The Eagles then held home team Brethren Christian scoreless for the victory. Pitcher Kalyn Carpenter did not allow an earned run in eight innings.
4/17/08 Eagles Collect 22 Hits--Smother St. Margaret's Tartans
Jessica Nipp pitched a complete game, Capri Ruiz and Natalie Manzo had 4 hits each, Kristina Drzymkowski, Jesica Balmer, Bronwyn Seward, and Elizabeth Sherwood had 3 hits each to lead the Eagles to a 29-10 victory at St. Margarets for their third league win this week. Kristina Drzymkowski went 8 for 11 in the three games this week, raising her batting average to above .400 for the season.
4/15/08 Eagles Stop Lightning's Charge In 7th Inning--Win 4-3
The Sage Hill Lightning had already scored two runs in their final inning rally to trail by one, and after an intentional walk to load the bases, Eagles pitcher Kalyn Carpenter forced a groundout to end the dramatic game 4-3. Earlier in this half of the inning, it appeared the Eagles had escaped with the win, but a bases loaded double play to end the game was instead ruled obstruction at 1st base allowing the inning to continue for Sage Hill. Capri Ruiz and Bronwyn Seward each had two RBI's to lead the Eagles, the margin of victory coming in the fifth inning on Bronwyn's 2-strike groundout to the right side that scored Jesica Balmer from third base.
4/8/08 Lady Eagles Earn First Place In CIF Academic Championships
