High School

Our High School, through its curriculum, electives and extracurricular activities, prepares students for admission into college and for achievement and success in the college environment. We also work hard to provide and encourage:
Opportunities | Participation | Success
in a variety of extracurricular activities and programs here at CVCS. At CVCS  75% of our high school students participate in athletics or in the performing arts program. Our mission to provide educational excellence in a Christ-centered environment is accomplished by an integrated, distinctively Christian worldview education. In addition to our University of California accepted core curriculum, we also offer 14 honors and advanced placement courses. With our small class size (average 9:1), caring and committed Christian teachers work closely with students assisting them to reach their fullest potential. Over 20% of our high school faculty has advanced degrees and the average faculty teaching experience is 12 years. We also encourage and create opportunities for active participation in extracurricular activities and 75% of our high school students participate in athletics or in the performing arts program. Our students consistently perform above the national and California averages for college SAT, ACT, AP tests, and our graduating students are annually accepted at prestigious colleges and universities (see College Preparation).

Student SAT Scores
The latest SAT (Standard Achievement reasoning Test) shows that our class of 2010 graduating seniors scored well above the California and National Averages. Below are the average scores of the 43 seniors who took the test of the 53 who graduated. The scale is based on a 2400 high score (800 critical reading & writing and 800 math). Uniform Guidelines

2011 - 2012 Dress Code Policy - All Schools
CVCS believes that a designated student wardrobe is a positive way to emphasize membership and group identity, fostering a community spirit. Uniforms allow students to be recognized for who they are rather than what they wear, and help to promote school unity.  Student apparel reflects the conduct, attitudes and the quality of the school. This helps students to realize that a person’s unique gifts and personality traits go deeper than their apparel and aren’t diminished by uniform dress. At CVCS, JK-12th Grade students are required to wear uniforms.

It’s time once again to announce our annual SHINE dinner auction on March 31, 2012. This year we are excited to be holding the event at the historic Casino in San Clemente. This special event is an opportunity to help the school fund scholarship opportunities and to continue to upgrade and maintain the current CVCS facilities. With your participation, we are certain to make this a huge success.  Please join all of us to:

  • Pray for a successful evening!
  • Attend the auction and invite friends and family!
  • Donate to your classroom theme basket
  • Become a table underwriter
  • Advertise your business in our event program
  • Purchase a personal tribute in the event program
  • Seek family, friends, businesses and associates to fulfill our need for interesting and unique items to auction (such as vacation homes, special skills, etc.)

Please download the Donation letter and Donation Request form for your use.  Don’t be afraid to ask the businesses you patronize for a donation.

Many thanks for your continued support of our schools as we strive to grow and meet the needs of Orange County’s families through Educational Excellence in a Christ-Centered Environment.  Our prayer is to see CVCS thrive well into the future.
