It is with great pleasure to acknowledge and present Mrs. Margery Haney as our Capistrano Valley Christian Schools Teacher of the Year for 2007 – 2008.

Mrs. Haney currently teaches 5 different subjects in the areas of High School English and Social Studies. Her current schedule includes Research and Reading; English Language; AP English Language; English SDAIE to International Students; and AP United States History. She also serves as the department chairman of English and has served on various advisory committees both in and out of this school.

Mrs. Haney has not just been “involved” directly with events and activities, but has lead and/or initiated the development of programs for students to “experience” for the enhancement of their education. For example, Mrs. Haney has initiated the on campus development of the “National English Honors Society”. This promotes and serves to enhance a better command of the English Language through speech and writing. She also coordinates off campus field trip experiences that play a specific and direct role in her student’s education as they directly relate to the subject at hand. Mrs. Haney also coordinates, manages, and facilitates Prep classes for PSAT and SAT.

Mrs. Haney continues to be an outstanding teacher and overall asset to CVCS. She strives and continues to challenge students in preparing them for their next level of education whether it will be the next year in high school, or post-high school studies. Also, her students consistently show passing scores on the AP Exams in both of her AP Courses.

We are very pleased and proud of the accomplishments of Mrs. Haney and the outstanding accomplishments of her students as well. Congratulations to Margery Haney for our CVCS Teacher of the Year.

Mrs. Haney will now be part of the over-all Teacher of the Year program sponsored by the Orange County Department of Education.
