Araceli Velasquez became part of the CVCS family in the fall of 2017 after living abroad in Rome, Italy.
As an Oceanside, CA native, Sra. Velasquez has always felt a connection to the ocean. After graduating from Oceanside High school, Sra. Velasquez continued her soccer career at San Diego Christian College. From sophomore thru senior year Sra. Velasquez led the team as captain and earned most defensive player of the year, ALL-GSAC team, MVP, and an appearance at the NCCAA tournament in Florida. During her college years, Sra. Velasquez coached at Christian high school, played college soccer, attended school full time, and volunteered for routine missions’ trips down to Ensenada, Mexico, where she developed a heart for helping the needy. After college, Sra. played soccer both domestically and internationally at some of the highest levels before obtaining a job as a professional interpreter.

Sra. Velasquez worked as a professional interpreter before accepting the Spanish teacher position at CVCS and coached the boys’ soccer team (2017-18 season) and has been coaching the girls’ soccer team ever since. She hopes to encourage students in their academic endeavors, God-given talents and dreams, and their curiosity for the Spanish language and other Spanish speaking cultures. With so many Spanish speakers around the world, it is important that students learn about different cultures and how they can share God’s love using Spanish Bible verses and phrases. Witnessing to non-believers is the ultimate form of brotherly love we can show as the body of Christ. Sra. Velasquez enjoys equipping students with the tools to have real life conversations and most importantly God conversations that ultimately surpass language barriers.

Sra. Velasquez and her husband are members at Awaken church in Carlsbad and enjoy going on adventures around the world and eating great foods and desserts.
