Mrs. Jill Ross
Jill Ross has been a Christian high school English teacher for over 25 years. She attended Sonoma State University, where she earned her degree and credential, and more importantly, became a follower of Jesus. She taught for five years in Northern California before moving to beautiful Monterey, CA. There, she spent 13 years teaching English, training new teachers, and witnessing many students come to faith in Christ—often seeing them baptized in the Monterey Bay near the school's site. During her time there, she also received an Outstanding Teacher Award from the Monterey Rotary Club.
Accepting an English teaching position at CVCS was an exciting answer to prayer and brought her back home to Southern California. She loves teaching at CVCS because the entire community is infused with joy and a love for Christ. For Mrs. Ross, the best thing about teaching is the ability to join her two passions: literature and Christ, especially in applying a Christian worldview to the material. One of her teaching highlights is seeing students grow in their ability to think critically and form their own opinions. She strives to fill her classes with creative activities, laughter, fun, and dynamic, thought-provoking discussions.
Mrs. Ross and her husband are active at their church in Tustin and enjoy taking walks together and discussing the Bible. She also loves to read and spend time with family and friends.
