Sarah Spencer grew up in Mountain View, California. The desire for a Christ-centered education with a close knit community led Sarah to Vanguard University of Southern California, where she studied Acting and Directing for Theater Arts and graduated with top honors. While at Vanguard Sarah also participated in student leadership as a Resident Assistant for Junior and Senior students. Sarah’s deep appreciation for performing arts was cultivated by talented and godly professors, who taught her the significance of integrating her faith into an otherwise secular career. This integration was pivotal when Sarah signed as a fashion model with Elite Model Management and began traveling for work while completing her degree. During her travels to fashion shows and photoshoots, Sarah was able to share the Good News with makeup artists, photographers, and other models. This opened opportunities for her to speak at youth conventions and church services about body image, finding identity in Christ, and God’s call to preach the gospel. Sarah continued working in the fashion industry after college until her agency asked her to make compromises she was unwilling to make, it was then she chose to leave the fashion industry and pursue other interests. After working five years in the construction industry where Sarah met her husband, she knew God was calling her to pursue a new career in education. Sarah had always felt a call on her heart to teach students and had always been actively involved in youth ministry at her church. She returned to Vanguard to complete her credential in Social Sciences. Later Sarah would add a credential in English Language Arts from the University of California, Riverside.

When the pandemic hit Sarah gave up all hopes of being hired as a teacher in 2020, however a part time position at Capistrano Valley Christian Schools opened up. Sarah is incredibly grateful for how God has directed her steps to working as a Christian educator. As a Junior High English and Bible teacher, she hopes to encourage her students to integrate their faith into their passions and use their talents for spreading the gospel. Sarah believes that all good literature reveals the human condition and naturally points to God. Through discussion and inquiry based research Sarah hopes to guide students to the ultimate connection between man’s depravity and a need for a Savior.

Sarah and her husband are active members at the Shoreline Church in San Clemente. They enjoy biking to the beach with their two daughters.
