Dr. Heidi Zameni

Dr. Heidi Zameni attended California State University Fullerton and received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in English. She successfully defended her Ph.D. from Claremont Graduate University, where she studied American and British Literature.

Dr. Zameni previously worked at CVCS as the Director of International Students/ELD and began and directed that program from inception. She also served on the school board as a trustee for many years. She taught high school at CVCS for two years before moving on to higher education—a field that she has worked in for years. She has recently taught English at U.C. Irvine, Vanguard University, Saddleback College, and California Baptist University.

Dr. Zameni returned to CVCS as Director of International Students in 2022, and she has a desire to prepare international students for the college years and encourage them to achieve their goals. Dr. Zameni has a love for all things international and has worked with international students for many years, in teaching and administrative capacities. She has traveled to many countries, and her family is ethnically diverse, with members from South Korea, Iran, Kenya, France, Puerto Rico, and Mexico. She appreciates the rich cultures that international students bring to the campus. Her philosophy is reflected in a popular quote attributed to St. Augustine: “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” She encourages each CVCS high school student to travel the world and gain a different perspective on other cultures, just as the CVCS international students courageously do.
