Mrs. Lorena Amaro
Mrs. Amaro earned a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and a Bachelor of Arts in European Studies from Loyola Marymount University. While studying at LMU, she enrolled in their study abroad program and completed Spanish coursework during the fall semester in Madrid, Spain and coursework in international relations at the University of Surrey in England. Mrs. Amaro earned a Master of Arts in Spanish Literature from UCLA. Upon graduating from UCLA, Mrs. Amaro began a career in human resources administration, specializing in employment law. She worked for both the public and private sector. Her career in human resources was motivated by her desire to serve her community.
Many years later after having a family, she was inspired to pursue teaching as a second career. She returned to school and earned a teaching credential. Mrs. Amaro has had the great fortune of teaching diverse students in both public and private schools for the past 13 years. Teaching has been her most rewarding endeavor. Mrs. Amaro is incredibly passionate about the content that she teaches. She is eager to inspire her students to travel and use their language skills to connect with people from Spanish speaking countries. She uses her prior experience as an HR Director to mentor students and prepare them for future success in a global workplace.
Mrs. Amaro resides in San Juan Capistrano with her family, and she enjoys eating international food, traveling, and live music.
