Miss Kayli Jester
Ms. Jester obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English (with a Medieval Studies minor) at UC Berkeley, and her Single Subject English Credential and Master of Education Degree at UCLA. She is a lifelong lover of literature, and she has found that God often uses stories, and His Holy Word, to renew her joy in Him. She initially took on tutoring jobs with UC Berkeley and private agencies to fund her schooling, but what began as a part-time post developed into a passion for education. She found that she wanted to pursue a career that allowed her to build sincere relationships while fostering others’ confidence in their reading and writing abilities. At this time, Ms. Jester was also serving as a small group leader for her church and found that she could also pursue mentorship as an educator.
Ms. Jester hopes to create a learning environment that allows students to encounter Jesus Christ in their thinking, reading, and writing processes. She encourages young people to use their communication skills honorably and admirably in a world where words are often destructive. Aside from teaching, she also aims to support the college fellowship at her local church and one day start a new prayer ministry, wherein adults can access a quiet space dedicated to prayer and live worship after work hours to intentionally enjoy God’s presence and receive prayer from leadership. In her free time, she explores new restaurants and attends baseball games at Angel Stadium.
