Mrs. Krisanne McKay

Title: High School Science Teacher
Departments: High School

Biography:

Mrs. McKay graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture and a business minor. Adventure moved her westward to Orange County, where she fully surrendered to Jesus! She worked for an Irvine medical device company, eventually becoming a Continuing Education instructor for hospital surgical technicians and nurses across the country.

She feels blessed to have been a part of the CVCS family since 2020, contributing in various part-time roles (JK-12!) while working toward her Master's degree and teaching credential. Notably, during the 2022-2023 school year, she taught High School Biology and Algebra 1 at a homeschool co-op and served as the CVCS High School teaching assistant to Dr. Gaunt and Mrs. Slinkard. She is thrilled to be fulfilling her calling as a High School Science Teacher at CVCS.

Her love for God’s marvelous, remarkable creation, children, teaching, learning, and the Bible’s nature analogies inspired her to obey the Lord’s calling to teach high school science. She desires to foster a love of learning about God’s creation through the lens of His word. For her, teaching is also a ministry.

She lives in Capistrano Beach with her husband, nearly launched kids, and their maltipoo. She enjoys the outdoors, working out, family time, coffee with friends, Bible studies, creative home projects, flower gardening, traveling, and visiting their first grandchild in Carlsbad.
