Have you ever wondered how a surfboard is made and the science behind the design? On Tuesday, January 24, CVCS is proud to welcome local surfboard shaper Donald Brink to share the craft and science behind the making of a surfboard. Donald is a world-renowned surfboard shaper working in Capo Beach. Donald will be live shaping two surfboards at CVCS throughout the day in a mobile shaping bay provided by Vissla surf company. He will be sharing the science behind surfboard design during a special assembly for fifth through eighth grade. Finally, the boards he shaped on campus will be glassed and available for auction at the annual Shine Dinner & Auction on March 16.

7:30–8:30 am—Live surfboard shaping in the Vissla trailer on the blacktop
10:15–11:00 am—Special Assembly for 5th-8th graders about the science and craft behind making a surfboard
11:30–3:30 pm—Live surfboard shaping will continue in the Vissla trailer on the blacktop
