Announcing the Hiring of Marnie Day as the New Elementary School Principal

Ms. Day was selected from a group of nearly twenty highly qualified candidates from across the country. Finalists spent a full day on campus interviewing with multiple panels including elementary teachers, parents, students, and administration.  At the end of the process, Ms. Day emerged as the overwhelming favorite among all constituent groups.

Ms. Day brings thirty-one years of experience in education.  She was a public elementary school teacher for nineteen years before transitioning to Christian education. She was the creator and director of an academic support program at Friends Christian in Yorba Linda, and also served a six year term as Dean of Students at Friends. She earned a B.A. in Child Development and a teaching credential from Whittier College and a M.Ed. in administration and supervision from Liberty University.  In her career, she has also earned a CLAD certification for English Language Learners and an ACSI Administrators Credential.

In addition to her impressive credentials, Ms. Day is also tremendously relational and embodies the culture of love for Jesus and others that defines the CVCS spirit. "As teachers, we are so happy to have Marnie as our new principal," said first grade teacher Denise Prouty. "She has been an incredible support to us and we are excited for the future."

Ms. Day will also carry the title of Rise Director and will be responsible for the oversight of the program she has so capably built over the past three years. She will oversee the hiring of additional staffing to execute the program and work closely with that team to ensure the same high level of quality in the future.  Rise Aide Lauren Burke has also done an outstanding job and she will be returning to provide continuity and excellence.

Ms. Day will officially assume the position on July 1 but will continue to serve alongside head of schools Chris Rutz as the Interim Assistant Elementary Administrator for the remainder of the school year.  We have great confidence that our elementary program is poised for greatness in the years ahead under Marnie's leadership.  Please pray for God's guidance and wisdom on her for all He will accomplish through her leadership.
