CVCS Introduces New Head Varsity Cross Country Coach

Coach Bush joined CVCS in 2017 in her role as Marketing Project Manager and is the creative talent behind all our social media, graphics, design, and marketing presence. Prior to her work at CVCS, Coach Bush, a Mission Viejo native, attended Capistrano Valley High School, where she ran for their elite-level cross country program all four years and was named team captain her senior year. Upon graduation, Coach Bush attended Westmont College where she worked closely with cross country coaching legend, Russell Smelley, assisting in recruiting work and program logistics. Coach Bush is thrilled at the opportunity to build a sustainable, competitive program that fulfills CVCS’s mission to foster champions of character.

Coach Bush will be replacing Mr. Easter, who is stepping down as head cross country coach after 33 wonderful years of service. Mr. Easter will continue in his role as a science and mathematics teacher for which he was named one of the OC Teachers of the Year in 2016. He will also continue to serve in the athletic department as the scorekeeper for volleyball, football, basketball, and baseball. He has done an outstanding job in guiding our program as the league meet coordinator for the Western Athletic Conference, and we are grateful for his many years of outstanding service.
