High School Independent Study Program

Capistrano Valley Christian High School – Independent Study Program (ISP)

Overview: Capistrano Valley Christian High School welcomes the opportunity to partner with established homeschool families to provide opportunities and options that allow home school students to become engaged in a wide variety of academic and extracurricular offerings within our traditional school environment.

Eligibility for initial application to join CVCS as an ISP Student: Any student/family interested in being a part of the CVCS ISP Program must currently be enrolled in an established home school educational environment and is a Home School Legal Defense Association (H.S.L.D.A.) Member.

Exclusions: The CVCS ISP option serves as a first step in the transition to full-time enrollment at CVCS. As such, the program exists for new and incoming students only and is not available for students who are currently enrolled or have attended CVCS as a full-time student at any point CVCS ISP students are not eligible for financial aid or any additional financial assistance to participate in activities and/or athletics.

CVCS ISP Requirements: Students in the CVCS ISP program are required to take a minimum of one course, but not more than three courses on the CVCS campus. If the student does not already have a Bible class built into their off-campus home school environment, then a Bible class is required. If a Bible class is already part of homeschool learning, then at least one academic course is required. Participation in Independent PE and/or athletic teams, strength and conditioning class, teacher's aide, etc. do not count to fulfill requirements. ISP Students must participate in competitive athletics and/or performing arts to be eligible for the ISP program.

Graduating with a CVCS Diploma: To earn a diploma from Capistrano Valley Christian Schools, a student must be on track and meet all the graduation requirements as per full-time CVCS students.
