The past year has been one unlike any other and levels of stress and anxiety have shown a dramatic increase in every age group across the nation. We recognize that this has been a difficult year for many of our students, and we are committed to helping them deal with the emotional stressors of this time. That is why we are proud to announce our new partnership with associate therapist Arlene Irion, who will be providing on-campus services two days a week by referral from the student's principal or academic counselor.
Arlene Irion is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #109587) in the state of California. She holds a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from California School of Professional Psychology, a Master of Arts in Criminology from Boston University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in elementary education from California State University, Northridge. She is also a former CVCS parent, having two children who attended during their elementary years.
Arlene has a background working with the FBI to help children who have been the victims of traumatic crimes. This experience led her to pursue a second master’s degree in marriage and family therapy. She has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families who have experienced trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, ADHD, autism, and relational challenges. She has also worked with families and multiple agencies involved in the foster care system throughout Southern California.
Arlene is a counselor who holds a deep personal faith in Christ and uses a “best fit” approach in psychotherapy; integrating techniques from an attachment-based family therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic theory, and experiential therapy. She integrates a holistic approach to wellness, integrating the mind, the body, and spirituality.
CVCS is pleased to offer up to three complimentary sessions with the therapist. Any family wishing to extend services will make arrangements directly with Arlene. If you are interested in accessing her services, please click on the consent form. Consent Form »
