School Therapist
Childhood and adolescence is a time of enormous change and growth, and we recognize the need for social and emotional support for our students.
Arlene Irion is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT 138482) in the state of California. She holds a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from California School of Professional Psychology, a Master of Arts in Criminology from Boston University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in elementary education from California State University, Northridge. She is also a former CVCS parent, having three children who attended during their elementary, junior high, and high school years.
Arlene has a background working with the FBI to help children who have been the victims of traumatic crimes. This experience led her to pursue a second master’s degree in marriage and family therapy. She has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families who have experienced trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, ADHD, autism, and relational challenges. She has also worked with families and multiple agencies involved in the foster care system throughout Southern California.
Arlene is a counselor who holds a deep personal faith in Christ and uses a “best fit” approach in psychotherapy; integrating techniques from an attachment-based family therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic theory, and experiential therapy. She integrates a holistic approach to wellness, integrating the mind, the body, and spirituality.
Each CVCS student has access to up to two complimentary sessions with a Christian therapist. Any additional sessions are the responsibility of the parent.
